Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate
6 1/2 cups water
1 12 ounce can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 tsp vanilla
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker and whisk to combine.
Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours until the mixture is hot and ingredients have combined. I like to stir mine every 30 minutes or so.
Once the mixture is hot you’re ready to serve the hot chocolate. I usually turn mine to the “keep warm” setting until we are ready to drink it.
Ladle into mugs and add your desired toppings, we like marshmallows or whipped cream.
Makes 6-8 servings
Notes – This recipe is very versatile you can replace some of the water with coffee, you can add in peppermint extract to make a mint hot chocolate, or cinnamon to make a Mexican hot chocolate.
I’ve made this for a hot chocolate bar when having friends over, and it’s perfect for a snow day when the kids are coming in and out and want something to warm them up. I also like that most of the ingredients can be kept in the panty and pulled out when needed.
